Procurement Process Of Assam Swanirbhar Nari Scheme

  • The procurement process works as follows:
    • The Directorate of Handloom and Textiles, Assam, sets up procurement centers in the weaver concentrated areas based on the registered weavers under the portal. The list of procurement centers is available on the portal and the departmental website.
    • The weavers bring their hand-woven items to the nearest procurement center along with their registration certificate and Aadhaar card.
    • The procurement center verifies the identity and the registration of the weavers and inspects the quality and the quantity of the items.
    • The procurement center issues a receipt to the weavers, mentioning the details of the items, such as the grade, the price, the quantity, etc.
    • The procurement center transfers the funds to the weavers’ bank accounts within 15 days of the procurement. The weavers also receive a payment report through SMS and email.
  • The procurement schedule is as follows:
    • The first phase of procurement will start from 1st February 2024 and end on 28th February 2024. The items to be procured in this phase are gamochas and mekhela chadors.
    • The second phase of procurement will start from 1st March 2024 and end on 31st March 2024. The items to be procured in this phase are rihas and other hand-woven items.
