CBSE 12th Class Qualifying Marks

To pass the CBSE 12th exams, you will need to get at least 33% marks in each subject. This is including the both the theory exams and the practicals or internal assessments. Which do you have.

  • Theory exams: when coming tontheory These are the written tests you take for each subject. You need to score at least 33 out of 100 marks.
  • Practicals/Internal assessments: These are the hands-on parts of subjects like science or computer applications, or projects and assignments. Again, you need at least 33% in these too.

And remember, you have to pass both parts separately. So, if a subject has both theory and practical exams, you need to get 33% in each part, not just overall.

In 2023, the CBSE Class 12 exams had an overall pass rate of 87.3%. This means out of all students who took the exam, 87.3% passed. Girls did better than boys; 90.69% of girls passed while 84.67% of boys passed. For students who identify as third gender, 60% passed. The city of Trivandrum had the highest pass rate at 99.91%.
