Archaka Swamys Performed Suprabatha Seva for Lord venkateswara in Tirumala

This particular ritual known as Pooja or Seva is conducted daily at the beginning of the day. It commences during the auspicious Bramhi Muhurtam which starts at 3:30 AM in the morning. Vedic singers and priests called Archakas, enter the temple through the Silver Gate and stand before the first of the Holy Seven gates before Jaya and Vijaya. Then the Sannidhi Golla a temple attendant enters the temple by opening the first gate and lights the lamps in the inner sanctum. The Archakas clean the inner temple and prepare the idols for the morning abhishekam, or ceremonial bath. The water used for the abhishekam is brought from Akasa Ganga.

After the initial rituals the Vedic singers begin praising the lord to awaken and offer darshan to the devotees. The first song sung is the Suprabatham in Sanskrit. Following that Sri Venkateswara Saranagathi and Mangala Saasanam are sung by the Vedic scholars. Around 400 to 500 devotees are allowed for this darshan every day, except on certain festival days. Once the rituals and praises are completed each devotee is permitted to have the Suprabataha Darshanam. Initially VIP category individuals are allowed for darshan. Then general ticket holders are provided darshan at Kula Sekhara Padi which is the first gate from the Dhruvaberam.
